I'm a Newb!

Hey Newb!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Swagbucks!
You've picked the best place to start your journey; I'm going ot walk you through the entire registration process and your first day as a swaggernaut!

Step 1.Sign up via this link: Swag Bucks Referral Link

To be entirely straight forward, this link takes you to register via my referral link. This means that you give me credit for sending you to Swagbucks. I would greatly appreciate you helping me out by using that link, however, if you would prefer, here is a direct link: Swagbucks. To sign up you need a valid email address (if you don't have one, ummmm... never mind) You can connect your swag account to your facebook profile (as of 2/11/11) with linking to Twitter, Yahoo, Myspace, and Google coming soon. Fill in the appropriate info and get out your super, high-strength reading glasses for the security code ;)

Step 2: Your First Day

Now that your all signed up (hopefully via the referral link), go back to the Swagbucks homepage and scroll your mouse over the "Earn" tab. Click on the link to the "Daily Polls" tab. If I miss doing the daily poll, my family is probably preparing my funeral! It's a free swagbuck everyday (365 a year.) After voting in the poll, mouse back over "Earn" and click on NOSO. NOSO stands for: "No Obligation Special Offers." Click through the 5-6 ads (don't sign up for any of them, you won't receive any swagbucks for them!) and at the end you receive a swagbuck, sometimes two. (Assuming we get two bucks every now and then, that's about 400 a year.)

If you're using any major web browser, you can download a Swagbucks plug-in to search directly from your normal search bar. (Here) If you would prefer to access all of Swagbucks from the comfort of a tool bar, you can download the official tool bar: here. Make sure to check your messages from TSG ("The Swag Guy") whenever you get one, it is typically some free swagbucks.

Step 3: Where Do I Go From Here?

What do all those other tabs mean? Who is TSG and what does she want? When can I get a PS3 from the Swagstore?

-The Earn Tab
Coupons, this tab features a collection of coupons for groceries and many other things for every coupon you print out and redeem (no, you don't earn bucks just for printing) you earn ten sb's. I haven't used any yet, but only because I keep forgetting when I'm going to the store :( They are supposed to confirm (hit your account) in a few weeks.
Daily Deals, this tab features items you can online from third-party sites and earn SB's for it. 'nuff said :)
Games, this tab features (you guessed it) games! Whether your taking a break from all your surveys and offers or you need to kill some time til 5 o'clock, this is the tab for you. SB's are randomly distributed in between games (just like searching.) The tournaments are full of people way smarter than you and me, don't waste your precious SB's entering unless you are nailing high scores!
Search, this tab is what Swagbucks is built around. It is a search engine just like Google, except every couple of seconds people are randomly given between 5 and 50 SB's. On Friday's (called Mega-Swagbucks days) the SB's distributed are much greater. Your best bet is to just use the search like you would a regular search engine, don't sit there searching random letters in an attempt to score more SB's.
Special Offers, in this tab, you complete offers to earn SB's. Many offers are completely free; others require a credit card or purchase to complete. If you are going to download software or toolbars (remember you can always uninstall either immediately after receiving your SB's), you should definitely scan the file using your AV program. Several times Firefox has detected a malicious file and saved me from having to perform a fresh install of Windows ;) I do not recommend completing "tasks" as the companies submitting them are not the easiest to please. Many times I have completed tasks accurately and have been denied my SB's. Swagbucks takes these 'crimes' seriously and removes/reprimands the companies and tasks involved.

Swagbucks TV, this works just like the games and search tabs, with video. You watch various viral vids and news stories, etc. and SB's are randomly given out.
Trade In, in this tab you can "sell" your old Nintendo-64 (among other video games), cell phones, iPods, or used books for SB's.
Trusted Surveys, in this tab you can complete a profile (after having an account more than 7 days) and receive offers for surveys based on that profile. Even if you don't plan on completing surveys, I suggest completing your full profile because you earn 5-10 SB's for every section of the really long profile!

I hope that this helps you get started; the other tabs are pretty self-explanatory. I'll be commenting on some of them in future posts.

Thanks for reading!
